The 17 Day Diet -- Days 42-44

2/11/11

Ugh. Another gain of .9 lbs this morning. So much for making progress... It was probably all water weight that I lost. Plus all that sodium from eating out at Moe's last night. And since I haven't been drinking much water at all for the last couple of days--kapow! It's back. Oh well... I'll lose it again. Today I went to Sam's preschool to do phase 1 of the Valentine's craft that I'll finish up with them on Monday at the class party. Then this afternoon, I babysat my friend's boys while she looked at houses in the area. Tomorrow, I have spinning class at 9:30am. I promised the boys a trip to the library when I get back. And Tom and I are going to a swanky restaurant in Saratoga to celebrate Valentine's a couple of days early. Monday is craft-o-rama morning at the preschool. And I have no doubt that Sunday is going to fill up with stuff at some point, just like it always does. Today I made sure that I got my 30 minute wii run in (and drank a water bottle full of water). I feel like I've accomplished a lot.

Just as I predicted, drinking the water did the trick. This morning I'd lost another 1.1 lbs. Since Tom and I are going out to celebrate Valentine's tonight and I'm planning to eat special-occassion food (like dessert!), I'm pre-dieting now and saving up all my natural starches for the meal tonight (minus the tortilla wth my snack wrap). I did this before our super bowl party and it worked out well. This morning I'm going to another spinning class, so I don't feel too guilty (or worried) about having a splurge.

2 hard boiled eggs
light yogurt
Lunch
bbq chipotle grilled chicken snackwrap at McDonalds
fruit and walnut salad --except Sam ate my grapes and I didn't eat the sugared pecans--so basically apples and yogurt
Snack
unsweetened applesauce
piece of turkey

Last night, Tom and I went to a nice restaurant for a special Valentine's dinner. It was awesome, but the scale was not my friend this morning. Needed to drnk a ton of water and do an extra hard workout today to remind me body it was a special occassion and we're getting right back to normal starting NOW, but as I write ths post, it hasn't happened yet. Maybe after I get the boys to bed I'll do a wii run. I did go through my closet tonight and did a big purge of clothes that no longer fit me. I'm starting to be able to fit into clothes that were hopelessly too small on me before, so that was very motivating. I've still got a ways to go though before I can fit into my favorite cruise clothes.
