Even though I've been keeping busy, I still have to resist the urge to write a daily talley mark on the suite hotel's wall. We've been here 10 days now, with 8 more to go... Halfway there.
Fortunately, we've got our closing scheduled for 10am on June 30th, which means that there is a light at the end of this tunnel. I want nothing more than to unpack our things, look at them again, touch them, kiss them, say hello, put them away in the new house, and get on with living my life in New York.
I'm beginning to feel like I'm on a too-long vacation, living out of a suitcase, trying desperately to find something entertaining to do every day. Luckily, I found Kira. She and I have been out together exploring nearly every week day and have had a lot of fun with the four boys. Yesterday we went to Adirondack Animal Land near Amsterdam, NY. It was a 45 minute drive west of here, but well worth it. Animal exhibits were interspersed with little playgrounds all throughout a shady, wooded area. We followed that up with a tram ride through the fields to see the animal "safari". The boys really had a great time. Today we went to Schenectady's Central Park, and it was also really nice. They have a great playground for toddlers, all fenced in with some really cool equipment, and it kept the boys busy for a good four hours. Like all the other parks we've visited, I couldn't get John to leave the sandbox. I am *so* glad I got a sandbox for the new house. My only regret is that I didn't get a bigger one. Luckily, the one I did get is portable, and can come inside during the winter.
I feel very at home here, but like most other things in my life, this lack of closure is killing me. I want to be in my house and done with this move already!
