I'm going to try to write down one thing every day that brings me joy. Here's today's (and yes, I'm aware that it's technically a food).
Coffee. Specifically Starbucks' Decaf House Blend, Medium, with 2 teaspoonfuls of Splenda and a liberal amount of International Coffee's sugar-free French Vanilla creamer.
I used to loathe coffee. I was the sort of person who, when ordering at a coffee house, ordered tea, or smoothies, or sodas, but never never EVER coffee. Perhaps it was the formative years I spent in the Mormon church, where coffee drinkers are on par with heroin junkies... I steared clear.
But then I got pregnant with Sam, and suddenly the words "I'd like an iced mocha" popped out of my mouth. I've been an addict ever since. I tried to resist temptation. Tom reminded m what coffee breath smells like. But it was no good. I am officially that writer who curls up with her laptop and her coffee in the morning and thinks happy dozey thoughts over her email (or her blog).
