On the group blog I occassionally write for, there's a weekly contest--it's purpose to get our creative juices flowing. This week's prompt was "The Last Time You Kissed Me." This is what I managed to submit:
The Last Time You Kissed Me
The last time you kissed me,
I didn’t write all my poetry in Edwarian Script – 18 point font
I wasn’t into velvets and corsets then
I was peasant blouses and long skirts and boots.
And I had long hair--
That I wore down every day for you.
It was in a bun though when you kissed me.
Your hands wove themselves over and under the elastic
Gave a light tug as your lips met mine.
It cascaded free as you pulled me into you—
A tangle of loose threads.
The last time you kissed me
Was the first time you told me goodbye.
